In-HOUSE | THE ART OF INDEPENDENT CRAFTSMANSHIP
Today, REXHEP REXHEPI comprises several workshops in Geneva’s historic Old Town, where cobblestone streets have witnessed centuries of fine watchmaking and goldsmithing tradition. United along a single street in the Old Town, ATELIER AKRIVIA enjoys the rare freedom to imagine, design, and bring timepieces to life, where every component is conceived, crafted, and hand-finished in-house.

THE ARTISTRY OF HAND FINISHING
The exemplary quality synonymous with ATELIER AKRIVIA begins in its watchmaking workshop, where each movement undergoes a meticulous finishing process and every component, both visible and hidden, is decorated by hand. Skilled and passionate artisans employ traditional techniques such as anglage, black polishing, perlage, and Côtes de Genève, ensuring that every element meets the highest standards of craftsmanship. Importantly, each watchmaker is entrusted with completing an entire timepiece, working on it from start to finish and imbuing every creation with a unique, personal touch.

Legacy in conventional case making
ATELIER AKRIVIA marked a milestone in 2019 with the inauguration of its micro-mechanics workshop with a specialty in case making. With the establishment of the workshop, legendary case-maker Jean-Pierre Hagmann joined the team.
With decades of expertise, Jean-Pierre Hagmann endowed the case workshop with priceless knowledge and a deep understanding of traditional case-making, enhancing ATELIER AKRIVIA's in-house capability. With his guidance, the workshop adopted time-honored case-making techniques akin to those employed during Swiss watchmaking’s first golden age in the mid-20th century, techniques that inherently embody the rich heritage of artisanal watchmaking in Geneva.

Expansion through a hand-sewn strapmaking workshop
In mid-2023, ATELIER AKRIVIA expanded its in-house capabilities with BRACELETIERS AKRIVIA, a dedicated strap-making workshop located just steps from the main ateliers.
BRACELETIERS AKRIVIA continues ATELIER AKRIVIA’s mastery of habillage, the art of “dressing” the watch, allowing REXHEP REXHEPI to design and craft straps by hand with the same artisanal excellence that defines its timepieces. Each hand-sewn strap is meticulously tailored to complement a specific watch, extending and reinforcing the brand’s aesthetic and artisanal vision. BRACELETIERS AKRIVIA also offers handcrafted straps for multi-brand watches, for collectors seeking a bespoke strap crafted to the same exacting standards.

Mastery of Grand Feu Enamel dial
In spring 2024, Rexhep Rexhepi opened a workshop dedicated to the art of grand feu enamel. This atelier enables REXHEP REXHEPI to create its own enamel dials, a hallmark of artisanal and technical mastery that few watchmakers have achieved, further elevating the excellence of REXHEP REXHEPI timepieces.
The progressive vertical integration of ATELIER AKRIVIA has broadened REXHEP REXHEPI’s creative horizons while reinforcing absolute control over every aspect of production. Each technique and skill mastered brings another aspect of watchmaking in-house, ensuring the brand’s uncompromising commitment to quality and artistry. With its specialised, fully integrated workshops in Geneva’s Old Town, ATELIER AKRIVIA reaffirms its dedication to craftsmanship while continuing to set new benchmarks in haute horlogerie.

Transmission and Craft
The atelier was conceived as a place of continuity, where watchmaking knowledge is not only practiced, but passed on. At its heart lies the philosophy of learning through doing, mastering the craft by understanding each gesture, each component, and each finishing technique. This vision is deeply rooted in Rexhep Rexhepi’s own journey, which began at the age of 15 under the guidance of Jean-Marc Figols, where precision, discipline, and respect for fine mechanical watchmaking were instilled from the very first days at the bench.
Today, that same spirit of transmission defines life within the atelier. Jean-Marc Figols now oversees the training of apprentices, sharing decades of experience and emphasizing quality, beauty, and coherence in every detail. Apprentices are guided patiently, learning not only technical skills, but also the values that define handcrafted timepieces: rigor, curiosity, and pride in work well done. Through this close mentorship, the atelier ensures that traditional watchmaking gestures remain alive, evolving naturally while staying true to their origins.
