AK-05

Tourbillon Barrette-Miroir

Marking the Fourth Anniversary
The First Creation with Arabic Numerals

AK-05 Tourbillon Barrette-Miroir watch with pink dial and hand-applied Arabic numerals Akrivia

Always more expressive

Although the fifth ATELIER AKRIVIA creation to be equipped with a tourbillon, the AK-05 is different from its predecessors in more ways than one. In some ways, the AK-05 is Rexhep Rexhepi’s ultimate expression of the regulating organ of the tourbillon.

Having no other complications, the AK-05 has a hand-made dial with an enlarged aperture to showcase the tourbillon. The aperture itself is ring by a circular frame of black-polished steel with a mirrored surface that reflects the light effortlessly.

The tourbillon itself has been redesigned, with the black-polished arms of the tourbillon carriage made more slender, while the tourbillon bridge has been elaborated upon. The result is a tourbillon that is more expressive, displaying its decoration even more emphatically, asserting itself as a signature of ATELIER AKRIVIA’s hand finishing.

Traditionnal watchmaking with a modern touch

The mirrored elements on the dial of the AK-05 symbolise a first for ATELIER AKRIVIA: the handcrafted applied numerals that adorn the dial. Formed by hand in steel, each numeral is meticulously black polished, elevating the dial's depth and texture. The numerals are then secured to the dial using the traditional technique of riveted pins — a practice rarely employed in modern watchmaking due to its laborious nature — demonstrates Rexhep Rexhepi’s dedication to traditional notions of watchmaking and quality. This painstaking process of attached the numerals to the dial illustrates the comprehensive nature of ATELIER AKRIVIA’s philosophy, where every detail, even those that are concealed, adheres to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Symmetrical back

The AK-05 movement maintains Rexhep Rexhepi’s signature symmetry, but accented with prominent black-polished steel parts characterised by their mirrored surface. A curved central bridge spans the entire movement and frames in a single jewel that supports the lower pinion of the axis that drives the hands. The slender form of the bridge also allows a view into the intricate mechanics of the going train.

The meticulous finishing of this bridge with its graceful curves is a showcase of ATELIER AKRIVIA’s artisanal mastery. Every edge of the bridge is finished with domed bevels while the screws and jewels sit in polished countersinks, a mastery of metal working that highlights the intricate interplay of the gears below.

Mirroring know-hows

The AK-05 features an enlarged tourbillon aperture at six o’clock, elegantly framed by a black-polished, mirrored steel ring. This hand-finished ring allows every detail of the tourbillon, including the cage and proprietary balance wheel, to catch the light with every rotation, captivating the wearer. The signature barrette-style tourbillon bridge showcases the unparalleled skill of ATELIER AKRIVIA’s watchmakers, reflecting the precision and artistry in its flawless finish.
