AK-06

The First Watch without a Tourbillon
Artisanal Hand Hammered Open-worked Dial

The AK-06 stainless steel watch created with a 100-hour power reserve and zero-reset second

Exquisite movement architecture

The first wristwatch created by Rexhep Rexhepi without a tourbillon, the AK-06 is nevertheless far from a simple timepiece. The mechanical complexity of the AK-06 is underlined by the open dial, which distinguishes the model as the first ATELIER AKRIVIA wristwatch without a conventional dial. The open-worked dial reveals a multitude of handcrafted details such as hand-hammering, perlage and anglage.

The AK-06’s movement showcases Rexhep Rexhepi’s commitment to symmetry and mechanical artistry. Each element on the open dial has been meticulously positioned for visual balance and mechanical function. The twin racks for the power reserve indicator, for instance, mirror each other. On the reverse, the centre wheel is secured by an elongated polished steel bridge, while the gear train and balance wheel are set on separate cocks, all of which are hand-finished with traditional techniques.

Precise Timekeeping Functions

For unparalleled accuracy, the AK-06 features both hacking and zero-reset mechanisms for the seconds, allowing setting of the time with pinpoint accuracy. When the crown is pulled, the seconds hand returns to zero while the balance wheel is halted. Reflecting a dedication to the highest standards in chronometry, the hacking zero-reset seconds demonstrates Rexhep Rexhepi’s belief that traditional watchmaking serves to enhance precision timekeeping.

Traditional Finishing Techniques

Hand-finishing each component is a pillar of Rexhep Rexhepi's philosophy, and the AK-06 showcases these techniques beautifully on both sides of the watch. Numerous components are polished with a stick of gentian wood, a technique that not only results in a brilliant shine but also protects the metal. This includes the rounded anglage, achieved with laborious filing and polishing done by hand, that affords both durability and unparalleled visual appeal. This dedication to finishing ensures that the AK-06 is not only a stunning work of art but also a timepiece built to endure, honouring Geneva’s watchmaking heritage in every detail.

On this staineless steel case version, the dial is grey with a hand-hammered finish.

Power Reserve Display

A standout feature of the AK-06 is its power reserve indicator located at 12 o'clock, which is both functional and a key design element that captivates with its mechanical poetry. The display utilises differential gearing to measure the 100-hour power reserve. This exposed mechanism invites the wearer to experience the tactile connection with the watch by winding the movement and watching the power reserve pointer travel upwards.
